See for Yourself

Myrtle Beach Real EstateWhile I was out taking pictures of Atalaya Castle on Saturday Morning September 10, I decided to walk over to the beach and get some shots there as well. This is what our beach looked like with Ophelia looming 250 miles off of our coastline.

As I am writing this on Tuesday afternoon, September 13, it is warm, misting rain and a bit breezier than usual. The winds are not gusting at 50 miles an hour as was predicted at first and so far we haven't seen any unusually harsh weather. Although I am very sad about what has happened in Florida and Louisiana, as a resident of Myrtle Beach, I can't help but feel grateful for our little haven. We're situated in the eastern coastline beneath North Carolina and so far most of the truly terrible storms have passed us by.

Our schools did close, just in case we had to evacuate, but most of the children in my cul-de-sac are running around barefooted as usual.

All and all a visit to Myrtle Beach is always worth the risk. Most of the area's accommodations already have policies in place to compensate guest should the worst happen and we have to evacuate. We hope to see you soon.
