Waccatee Zoological Farm

Located on 500 acres of carefully preserved land, Waccatee Zoological Farm is home to over 100 species of exotic animals. Here you wander along winding trails and get a close-up look at camels, zebras, egrets, and many others. Just keep your eyes open because Waccatee Zoological Farm is not a "concrete jungle" and the animals are kept in natural habitats.

Kathleen and Archie Futrell started this wonderful place as a private collection of animals over 20 years ago. Filled with over 100 hundred species of animals the Futrells decided to share it with the public and it has become an interesting and relaxing escape for the whole family.

The Futrells say, "We simply love animals - and we always have" and this is what motivated them to create such an enjoyable escape. They say that the interest shown by local people and by church and school groups is what helped them to decide to open Waccatee to the public.

Waccatee Zoological Farm is located at 8500 Enterprise Rd, in Myrtle Beach, just 15 minutes from the beach. For more information visit their web site: Waccatee Zoological Farm.
