The Village Surf Shoppe
 |
|
Kelly Richards is the owner of the Village Surf Shoppe
which has been in Garden City, in the same building since
1969.
|
| |
 |
He moved to Myrtle Beach
from Arkansas when he was ten and learned to surf and
craft surfboards from the owner at that time, Eric Keason.
In 1988, he was able to buy the Shoppe. Perfection Surfboards
is his brand name and his boards are in more competition
finals than any other. When asked about how the end of
Clark Foam would effect him he said to "buy now or
wait a year." |

Although Myrtle Beach isn't known
for the big waves, we do have more of our locals winning
in competitions all over the country. It's a great place
to learn. The waves are bigger in the fall because of
hurricane season and most consistent in the spring. Summers
are gentle and that is when The Village Surf Shoppe offers
their Surf Camp. Wed. & Thurs. morning during the
summer (9am - 12noon) |
