Calvin Gilmore has announced that he will debut a new production,
“Tribute the Concert” on Friday, March 5, 2004 in
North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Gilmore is best known as entertainer,
producer and owner of the most successful and longest running
Grand Strand theatrical production, “The
Carolina Opry”.
“Tribute, featuring six of the nation’s top tribute
acts as the heart of the show, will be performed nightly in
the North Myrtle Beach theater originally designed & built
for an earlier Gilmore production that ran from 1989 through
1995.
“Tribute will have the same high production standards
that have made the Carolina Opry a long-running success,”
said Gilmore. “We have assembled the most talented tribute
artists ever seen on the Strand and we are sparing nothing with
regard to staging and costuming.
The “Tribute” show will feature tributes to new
legendary performers every three months. The first set of performers
will be on stage from March through June portraying The Blues
Brothers, Johnny Mathis, Cher, Little Richard, Dolly Parton,
and a surprise celebrity to be named.
The Tribute theater is located at 701 Main Street in North
Myrtle Beach. The 20,000 square foot theater seats 1,000 and
has been refurbished for Gilmore’s new production.
The opening curtain of the show will be at 8 P.M. March 5.
Shows will play Monday through Saturday evenings, and some matinees
are planned. A special introductory price of $15 is available
for all March performances. Starting April 1, ticket prices
will be $28.95 per adult, $14 for children 3 to 16 years of
age, and $19 for students with ID. Group rates are available
for groups of 22 or more.
