Yet
another national TV show is making a star of the Grand Strand.
The Outdoor Life Network made the beach its backdrop last weekend
to film its new show, "Beach Ambush," which debuted Sunday
June 8th.
Myrtle Beach will be featured in future episodes, but the dates
haven't been announced.
Crews filmed kiteboarding, speedboating on the Intracoastal Waterway
and a Harley ride on the Boulevard.
The camera is coming to love the Grand Strand, making it a small-screen
star with appearances on the WB's "Dawson's Creek," the
Travel Channel's annual list of best beaches and the Food Network's
"Date Plate."
Myrtle Beach also has been mentioned on CBS' "Everybody Loves
Raymond" and MTV's "Punk'd."
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is constantly working
on these projects behind the scenes, according to Stephen Greene,
communications vice president, which aims to get $5.5 million of
free exposure annually.
"We are really stepping into the national scene with our product,"
Greene said. "It just keeps building upon itself."
