As
soon as the kids go back to school, Myrtle Beach begins
to empty out and all those folks who’ve dreamed of
having their own “vacation home by the sea”
are gone. The “buying season” is over.
Now, the fortunate folks who already own beach property
are faced with the off-season and diminished rental revenue.
This results in six months on unsubsidized mortgage payments.
Some ask themselves “Is this the time to sell?”.
And some do. Each year, in the fall, two things happen.
Vacation home listings increase, and current sellers become
willing to take less.

Those of you who’ve considered buying resort property
may want to move during this off-season. Mary Finney, Sales
Director at Myrtle Beach Resort Vacation Services told us, “as
soon as we got a listing this spring and summer, we had one
or two buyers waiting. Now we’re getting nice properties
to sell and we’re looking for interested buyers”.
