This popular question comes up each spring as our vacationing friends return to Myrtle Beach.

It doesn't matter that there are already so many restaurants in the Grand Strand that no one has time for them all.

Last month I mentioned Hamburger Joe's, located next door to Hudson's Flea Market in the Surfside/Garden City area along with Carrabba's Italian Grill which is now open in Murrells Inlet, and California Dreaming, next to Surfside Ryan's.

Coastal Grand, Myrtle Beach's one year old mall is still adding stores and restaurants. Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster and Smokey Bones are still under construction, but they are all due to open soon.

Abuelo's Mexican Food Embassy has also announced plans to join the restaurant district at Coastal Grand. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will employ between 60 and 70 people and will seat 260 people, with outdoor patio seating for 60. The Coastal Grand location will be the first location in the Carolinas for the Texas-based Abuelo's chain. Construction will begin soon, with completion scheduled for June.

Senor Frog's, the restaurant and bar popular with spring breakers in Mexico, is moving into the Murray Bros. Caddy Shack restaurant site at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach. The Myrtle Beach site will be one of three new Senor Frog's locations planned for this year. Other restaurants are planned for Honolulu and Las Vegas. In a news release, Grupo Anderson's describes its Senor Frog's concept as having a "fun, energetic and casual atmosphere, engaging guests with interactive entertainment and encouraging spontaneous, unplanned behavior."
