Since coming to Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Murray has also started painting
and took a painting class in Litchfield, which is about eight
miles south of the resort, where she spends the winter.. Her husband
took a computer class for seniors at Myrtle Beach's Coastal Carolina University, and now sets up his computer upon arrival.
All of this is great fun, but of course the real beauty of Myrtle
Beach is the Atlantic Ocean, which Mr. Murray refers to as "his
ocean."
They choose the Myrtle Beach Resort because they met Pat Finch,
who is now the director of owner operations, their first year
and she always makes them feel welcome. They look forward to seeing
her and other friendly faces each winter. They also enjoy the
fact that the resort has 24-hr security so they can get out and take
evening walks and feel safe. They still own a house
in Tautin, but enjoy the five months they spend in Myrtle Beach where they
can let the maintenance staff take care of their needs. Another
advantage to being here is that Myrtle Beach is a central location
for their children to come and spend time with them.
When asked what The Myrtle Beach Resort could improve on, Mrs.
Murray shared that, since she has been coming here for so long,
she knows who to call for what, to get her needs met. However,
like with any growing business changes are occasionally made.
She would like to see information more easily available to newcomers,
as well as, long time residents like herself. The Myrtle Beach
Resort is happy to be made aware of this and will address this
issue.
Mrs. Murray also shared that she meets people at The Myrtle Beach
Resort who use it as a stopping point when traveling to and from
Florida. A lot of the people she meets enjoy their stay and decide to spend
the following winter in Myrtle Beach.
