Grand Strand Brews

Being from PA, where micro breweries have become very popular, Eileen Brennan-Ryan, is in her words, "addicted" to micro brewed beer and no other beer quite cuts it. She found what she needed at Liberty Steak House and Brewery in Broadway at the Beach and we found her a couple of other interesting spots to try as well.

Quigley's Pint and Plate is located in the Mingo shopping center in Pawleys Island. Josh Quigley is the brew master who owns the new restaurant and brews handcrafted small batch beers on site. The menu at Quigley's Pint and Plate is a hearty complement to his fresh brewed beer.

The other stand out, for micro breweries is in Murrells Inlet. Blackwater Brews, located at 5180 US 17 Bypass is not only known for their fresh brewed beer it is also a relaxing place to spend time drinking coffee, tea, or smoothies. The menu includes wonderful organic dishes and sandwiches. They also have Wi-Fi and local artists have the walls hung with their creations. To top it all off, enjoy the live entertainment on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. This is definitely a laid back local haunt.
