 The Grand Strand is home to hundreds of festivals celebrating everything from the blue crabs to Harley Davidson motorcycles. There are several bluegrass music festivals annually as well as parades, pageants and competitions for everything including beach ball tournaments and watermelon eating contests. These festivals always include local food to give local restaurants a chance to flaunt their wares, every kind of music you can imagine and local arts and crafts. Often they raise money to support the community and other causes..
