The Hammock Shops

Nestled in the heart of the low country, The Hammock Shops, in Pawleys Island is a pedestrian’s outdoor shopping delight. With the mild weather in November and December this is a perfect spot for you to Christmas shop for those unique gifts you may not find anywhere else.

Barefoot Elegance is a shop that stands apart for its beautiful and fun mother and child oriented merchandise. You will also want to visit Soy Candle Creations to learn about the health benefits of soy candles. Owners and candle crafts people, Rob and Anne Skelton have turned a hobby into a blooming enterprise. Come and meet them and see how and why it is done. Another place that features local artists showcasing their work is Premieres Gallery which highlights some the areas most renowned artists.

The Original Hammock Shop is where this market place gets its name. Making hammocks is a craft perfected in South Carolina. This is the place to come and get some of the best that the low country has to offer and take it home with you. There is the Original Hammock Shop and a Hammock Weavers Pavilion to give you an idea of how it's done.

Among these and many other delightful shops there are several restaurants. One is Louis’ At Pawleys hosted by renowned Chef Louis Osteen, so don’t visit Pawleys Island without enjoying a gourmet's perspective on the low country south or a great lunch at Roz's Rice Mill Cafe'.

If you’re coming to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend of shopping, The Hammock Shops are more than worth the step Off the Beaten Path and for a great oceanfront resort, close by, check into the Myrtle Beach Resort.
