Golf Courses in the Grand Strand

Most of the areas best golf courses are located along the South Strand which includes South Myrtle Beach, Pawley's Island, Litchfield and Georgetown. Some of these courses are described here. Read on to see how they've earned their name as America's Best Kept Golf Secrets.

Heritage Plantation - The course at Pawley's Island Heritage Plantation is noted to be one of "America's best kept secrets" by GolfGuys.net. The course is central to the Heritage plantation, which was once a rice plantation in the old south. Still endowed with centuries-old trees, fields and all of the aquatic challenges of the low country, Heritage Plantation is an intriguing course that every golfer will enjoy.

Litchfield Country Club - Litchfield Country Club was among the initial eight courses built on the Grand Strand and was the first course in the Pawleys Island/Litchfield area. It is ranked as one of the "World's 50 Best" by Conde Nast Traveler. With mature tree-lined fairways amid giant oak trees and shimmering lakes, Litchfield Country Club is the place for serious golfers to challenge their skills.

Prestwick Country Club - In 2004 Golf Digest honored Prestwick Country club as one of the 5 best-kept secret golf courses in America. The course is designed by P.B. and Pete Dye who have had a huge impact on golf course design.

Wicked Stick Golf Links - John Daly brings his "grip it and rip it" style to golf design with his first ever signature course in Myrtle Beach. Teamed with architect Clyde Johnston, they have developed a stunning links course featuring dunes-like mounds and "Daly" tees that will challenge even the longest hitter. Wicked Stick offers a fun and exciting layout to golfers of all skill levels.

Pawley's Plantation - Pawley's Plantation is a player's course. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is a rare design where extraordinary beauty combined with masterful architecture delivers an exceptional golf experience. Wide green fairways lead to subtle greens guarded by natural hazards like the Pawley's Island salt marsh and the barrier island beyond.

Willbrook Plantation - Noted architect Dan Maples often refers to Willbrook Plantation Golf Club as one of his best. It was voted one of the 50 Best Courses in 2005 in Golf For Women Magazine. The par 5 15th hole demonstrates challenges that make the Myrtle Beach area one of the best, most exciting places to golf in the United States.

What do all of these great golf courses have in common? They are all part of a golf package that can be mixed and matched in what is becoming known as The Neighborhood Golf Package at The Myrtle Beach Resort. All of these courses are within a twenty-mile radius of the resort and prices include accommodations, taxes, surcharges, and cart fees.
