Festival Trees at Ripley's

In 2001, Ripley's Aquarium, at Broadway at the Beach, hosted it first Festival of Trees with ten trees. As the event has grown more trees representing more states have been added annually.

Christmas TreeThis year’s festival is adding a Washington D.C. tree to represent our Capitol State. It is also adding a Puerto Rico tree, which will be adorned with tropical flowers and colorful parrots.

Other great states to look for are Louisiana with a festive Mardi Gras tree decorated with masks and beads. There is a Nevada tree complete with a showgirl’s feathered headdress, the patriotic Pennsylvania tree, an Oklahoma tree with longhorns for a topper. Alaska's tree is an illuminated all white tree. This year's South Carolina tree will be an 18 ft tree decorated with magnolias, golf balls, seashell wreaths and stars and representations of the SC Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers.

This gets the vote for one of the most awesome holiday events of the season and is included at no charge with a regular aquarium admission. The Ripley's Aquarium is open daily at 9:00 am and for information about more of the wonders that this trip will afford, visit the Aquarium Website and for Great Accommodations while seeing the Holiday Sights in Myrtle Beach Click Here.
