Mark Brooks Memorial Bi-Lo 250 - October 23, 2004

The Mark Brooks Memorial Bi-Lo 250 is a Championship Series event for the Hooters ProCup Stock Car Racing Series. Race time is 7:30 p.m. Front gates open to the public at 3 p.m. Time trials begin at 4:30 p.m.

Breast Cancer Charity Ball & Silent Auction - October 29, 2004

This year's Charity Ball has a Kentucky Derby theme and guests are encouraged to attend the event dressed in their finest Derby attire. Proceeds benefit local recipients by assisting with their medical expenses related to breast cancer. The Paul Grimshaw Band will provides the evening's featured musical entertainment.

20th Annual St. Andrews Taste of the Town
November 3, 2004

This event has your taste buds waiting in anticipation! This festival celebrates its twentieth anniversary on Wednesday, November 5th from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. It's a friendly culinary competition among local restaurants with a panel of judges presenting awards for best entrée, dessert and booth design. Samplings of specialties can be purchased for $1.00 to $3.00.

Over 30 restaurants participate annually and some of the favorites already committed this year are; Sea Captain’s House, Bimini’s Oyster Bar & Seafood Café, T-bonz Gill and Grill, Sam Snead’s Grille, House of Blues and Greg Norman’s Australian Grille.

Tickets are available for advance purchase at St. Andrew's School and Parish office, and all area HTC offices. Individual tickets are $3.00 in advance and $4.00 at the door. Children 14 years and younger will be admitted free with a paid adult admission.

Murrells Inlet Veterans Parade & Pier Groundbreaking
November 13, 2004

The parade begins at the Murrells Inlet Fire Department on Highway 17 Business and ends at Captain Dick's Marina. Featuring the 82nd Airborne Division Marching Band. SC Air National Guard Flyover at 1 p.m.. Oyster Roast Fundraiser for the new pier from 12 Noon to 4 p.m..

KidsArt Second Saturdays - November 13, 2004

This month's theme: Leaf Impressions. With a different theme each month, let your child explore their creativity through a variety of arts and crafts. The class, led by instructor Marlene Ketterman, is for kids ages 5-12. The cost is $5 per child and pre-registration is required.

The Nutcracker by the Columbia City Ballet
November 18, 2004

The “Nutcracker,” with music by Tchaikovsky, is a perennial holiday favorite. This Christmas classic features a world-class cast of dancers, including medallists and former members of the National Ballet of Canada, the American Ballet Theatre and the Joffrey Ballet, under artistic direction of William Starrett. Young ballet dancers from the community will also be featured in the production sponsored by Santee Cooper and Horry Telephone Cooperative. Admission is $15 for adults, free for children under 18.
