Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Week Rally - May 13-22, 2005

There is not much to say about bike week that hasn't already been said. After all we've been doing it for 65 years and it is a part of Myrtle Beach. Thousands of motorcyclists flock to the Grand Strand from all over the country and the world. Vendors arrive by the hundreds to offer the newest and most up to date equipment. There are several rides daily to benefit every imaginable charity and a party every night. “The Myrtle Beach Spring Rally is considered by many to be the best rally in the world."

Veterans Golf Classic - May 22-25, 2005

Attention, Veterans. Register for the Veterans Golf Classic at the Landmark Resort on 5/22/05. Play golf at some of the area’s finest golf courses during the day and enjoy a variety of activities in the evening. Everything from a Pelicans Baseball Game to a welcome reception with hor d’oeuvres and cocktails will be available.

Atlantic Beach Bikefest - May 26-30, 2005

Atlantic Beach hosted its first bike rally in 1980. The event has grown as the festival continues annually on Memorial Day weekend. It attracts over 250,000 people to the Atlantic Beach and Myrtle Beach areas.

Le Grande Cirque - Opens June 1, 2005

This is a spellbinding performance at The Palace that you won’t want to miss. It stars some of the world’s greatest acrobats, high wire artists, jugglers and clowns. Le Grande Cirque is a great show for the entire family.

54th Annual Sun Fun Festival - June 2-6, 2005

For 54 years the Sun Fun Festival has been an important part of Myrtle Beach. There are numerous events for adults and children to enjoy during a long weekend of family fun. Many events this year will be held in Surf Side during Surf Side’s Super Sunday. Below a few events are highlighted.

Friday, June 3rd

Miss Sun Fun USA & Miss Sun Fun Teen USA Pageant
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Hawaiian Tropic Suntan Lotion sponsor the Miss Sun Fun USA and Miss Sun Fun Teen USA pageant. The admission price is 10.00 at the Attic between 8th and 9th avenues North.

Saturday, June 4th

Miss Bikini Wahine Beauty Contest
The contest will be held on the oceanfront between Myrtle Beach Pavilion, 9th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach. There is no cost.

Sun Fun Air Show
The Sun Fun Air Show is an awesome display of aeronautics and machinery. Featured are the US golden Knights and five other civilian acts. The Sun Fun Festival, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Myrtle Beach and Horry County Department of Airports sponsor it.

54th Annual Sun Fun Parade - June 4, 2005

The Sun Fun parade is a local tradition that you won’t want to miss. Festival queens honoring everything from azaleas to watermelons, come from all over the state to participate. Enjoy the excitement of parade music provided by military and high school bands and be entertained by clowns of all ages.

The parade starts on Ocean Boulevard at 3rd Avenue South and proceeds north on Ocean Boulevard to 16th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

Surfside Super Sunday - June 5, 2005

The day begins at 9:00 am with a Sun Fun Volleyball Tournament. If you’d like to play registration is at 8:30. There will be many activities throughout the day for the entire family to enjoy.

The opening ceremony begins at 10:00 am with a welcome by the Surfside mayor and the town of Surfside.

There will be a musical concert at 10:30.

The day continues with horse shoe pitching and bocce ball tournaments at 11.

At 11 am and 2pm there will be Kid’s Games including relays, a water a water balloon toss, sack races and more.

Don’t miss the Sand castle and Sand Sculpture Contests at noon. If you would like to participate, registration is at 11 am. Bring your own tools.

Come and show off your tan at 2 pm. This contest is open for the entire family. Women, men and youth are all invited to participate.

Family Festival By The Sea - June 5, 2005

This fun festival offers a variety of events for the whole family to enjoy. There will be face painting and a Dunkin’ Booth all afternoon. At 1 pm there will be a Bubble Gum Blowing contest with trophies and ribbons awarded. A Sand Castle Building Contest is at 1:30. The Watermelon Eating Contest will be held at 2 pm and the Legos Building Contest at 3 pm.

Sun Fun Kid’s Fair - June 6, 2005

Special Events to look for during this exciting fair are face painting, balloon art, entertainment by Party Time Productions, free watermelon and more. Don’t miss the special appearances by Miss Sun Fun and Miss Bikini Wahine. There will be a Legos building contest at 2 pm and free pepsi to the first 300 participants.

Art in the Park 32nd Year - June 18-19, 2005

Art in the Park is a special time in Myrtle Beach. All work is created completely by the displaying artists. Artists using all mediums will be displaying their artwork during this well know Myrtle Beach Festival.

'Round the Fourth- June 24-25, 2005

Come downtown to Conway to enjoy the ‘round the fourth celebration. Here is your chance to enjoy everything from riverboat and train rides to the USTA Ford Conway Tennis Classic. There will be three stages of continuous entertainment, children’s activities, arts, crafts and more. Finish this exciting celebration off with a large fireworks extravaganza.
