Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild Juried Show
March 4 thru April 18, 2004
The sixth annual Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild Annual Juried
Show opens at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art
Museum March 1, 2004. The show includes works in oils, acrylics,
watercolors, pastels, graphite, mixed media, batik, photography
and sculpture.
Selections were made from over 175 submissions by artists from
throughout Southeast. Awards presented include the Rebecca Bryan
Best in Show Award for $800, a first place award of $600, a
second place award of $400, a third place award of $300, and
the Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture Award of $250. Ten honorable
mention recipients were also named.

Golfapalooza - April 21-24, 2004
A four day celebration of golf in the "Golf Capital of
the World", Myrtle Beach, SC.
Wednesday - Saturday
Demo the game's newest products, compete for prizes, receive

This year's Taste of Broadway festival will coincide with the

Pawley's Pub Myrtle Beach Poker Run
April 24, 2004
Poker Run to benefit 10 year old Emily Barnes, who has Retts
Syndrome.
Registration at Pawley's Pub starts at 11am / First bike out
at 1pm.
Stops at: Bullseye Bar, Red Lion, Beach Monkeys, Dee Big Dawgs,
Dead Dog South, and then back to Pawley's Pub for BBQ and Entertainment
Cost is $20 per bike / $5 person, with prizes for best and worst
hands.

Theatre of the Republic Presents Ragtime
May 6-9, 2004
Music Theater International claims that Ragtime "paints
a nostalgic and powerful portrait of life in turn of the century
America... Ragtime intertwines three distinct stories that poignantly

Myrtle Beach Battle of the Bands
May 15, 2004
Profits will go towards the building of a new Myrtle Beach
Rescue Squad facility, which is to be named for slain officer
Joe McGarry. Bands will compete for over $5,000 in prizes, including
professional recording studio time and equipment.
