Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild Juried Show
March 4 thru April 18, 2004

The sixth annual Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild Annual Juried Show opens at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum March 1, 2004. The show includes works in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, graphite, mixed media, batik, photography and sculpture.

Selections were made from over 175 submissions by artists from throughout Southeast. Awards presented include the Rebecca Bryan Best in Show Award for $800, a first place award of $600, a second place award of $400, a third place award of $300, and the Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture Award of $250. Ten honorable mention recipients were also named.

Canadian-American Days Festival - March 13-21, 2004

The Canadian-American Days Festival® has been selected one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for the past 12 years by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Festival highlights include the Little Olympics, International Kitefest, concerts, riverboat tours, a senior softball tournament, South Strand Wildlife and History Day, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival.

Run to the Sun XVI - March 18-20, 2004

Pee Dee Street Rodders and Waccamaw Factory Shoppes present the 16th annual "Run to the Sun" car show. Custom cars/trucks, street machines, special interest vehicles, street rods. Proceeds from the show go to the Children's Miracle Network and to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Spring Swing/Big Band Fest - March 20, 2004

Memory Lane - March 21, 2004

"Memory Lane - Music You Love from the '40s, '50s & '60s", a benefit for the Rivoli Theatre, is presented by the Trinity Performing Arts Series. Area performers in a musical variety show, and all proceeds go to the Rivoli Theatre renovation project.

Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo - April 1 thru October 31, 2004

Enter your catch from the pier, surf, inlet, or deep sea at participating weigh staions along the Grand Strand for monthly decals, shoulder patches and prizes (Over $10,000 in cash and merchandise). No entry fees.
