| Up
until the last few years, families began their Myrtle Beach
vacation plans with Memorial Day Week-End…the “traditional”
start of summer. However, in many states schools are now closing
later and later, resulting in nearly empty beaches during the
first 2 or 3 weeks in June. This quiet period in tourism has
led many resorts and hotels to offer outstanding rates for “early
summer” visitors.
Many hotels and resorts encourage all who have the flexibility
to take advantage of this early summer season. Phil Cox, General
Manager at Resort Vacation Services, reports the benefits of
this slower time period. “You’ll notice fewer folks
in town, which converts to more good deals; not only in the
hotels and resorts, but in the restaurants as well. Our summer
rates don’t even begin until the week of July 4th, so
anyone who comes in June gets the benefit of inexpensive condos
and smaller crowds, with weather as beautiful as it ever gets.”
(Average June temperatures range in the high 70’s - low
80’s while July and August move up to the high 80’s
and low 90’s.)
In addition to special June rates, Resort Vacation Services
offers vacationers last minute “Internet Specials”.
These specials are only accessible to Internet users, and do
not become available until two to three weeks prior to the arrival
date.
