Cruisin' Down the Highway
 Visitors will definitely benefit from the new and improved roads into and along the Grand Strand. The Veterans Highway (Hwy. 22) runs twenty-eight miles from US 17 near Briarcliffe Acres to US 501 between Conway and Aynor. The highway consists of six lanes between US 17 and the Carolina Bays Parkway and four lanes between the parkway and US 501. The Carolina Bays Parkway is a six-lane controlled access freeway that currently runs twenty-one miles from SC 9 to US 501. Future development is planned to extend the Parkway to US 17 Bypass just South of SC 544. The Robert M. Grissom Parkway consists of four lanes between 62nd Avenue North and Harrelson Boulevard near the airport.
