"A Tourist Destination
for the Entire Family"
Myrtle
Beach started out as a quaint little beach town geared toward a
getaway for local families. Over the years Myrtle Beach has changed
into a destination for vacationers from all over the world. The
area has seen its share of carnival type attractions and retail
shops, however those have begun to fade into the background with
the new look designed to attract families. Myrtle Beach has started
to attract more family friendly businesses and attractions such
as The Mall of South Carolina scheduled to open on St. Patrick’s
Day of 2004. Along with the new mall the area is home to several
other shopping complexes as well as dozens of amusement style parks.
You can even enjoy a Broadway play without going to New York. Myrtle
Beach also has over 100 golf courses that helped to put it on the
map. More about the changes and their affects on the area can be
found in the book penned by Will Moredock “Banana Republic:
A Year in the Heart of Myrtle Beach”. Mr. Moredock will
be at The
Myrtle Beach Resort for a book signing March 16, 2004.
