The proceeds from the project will benefit the Rivoli restoration effort. The $5,000 sponsorship pays for the fiberglass models and a $1,000 stipend for the artists' supplies and labor. The goal is to renovate The Rivoli, located near the Pavilion, by adding a gallery, makeup and rehearsal rooms and a stage.

Sponsored artists will receive an honorarium of $1,000. All materials (other than the horse), supplies, and transportation of the carousel horse to and from the artist’s location are to be paid for by the artist. Copyrights to all designs selected become the property of the City of Myrtle Beach, including but not limited to the right to reproduce or use the design elsewhere.
