A
recent article in Myrtle Beach's Sun News reads in part:
Bargain hunters - spurred on by a customer-starved industry
that has suffered through two years of terrorism, recession,
war and, now, disease - have become adept at snaring the
best hotel prices. They have learned to book online, call
third-party vendors and never end a conversation with a
reservations agent without asking, "Is that your best
rate?"

Here in Myrtle Beach...
Jack Cox, President of Resort Vacation Services at the Myrtle
Beach Resort, agrees. "Just about every caller our reservationists
speak to want to know if they’re getting our best rate.
Concerned that our guests may worry about prices dropping as
the season progresses, we've gone a step further and are now
offering what we call our Guaranteed
Lowest Rate. It assures our vacationers that their rate
can be changed if we ever lower the rate on their type condo.
In order to encourage them to reserve now, we’re offering
substantial discounts for those vacationers willing to complete
their late spring and summer travel plans now.”
Mr. Cox concluded, "We are hoping this Guaranteed
Lowest Rate will give us a substantial base of business
to build on so that we may not have to offer the last minute
deals folks have become accustomed to."
