A Vacation For Your Pet!

Or...What To Do With The Four-Legged Children!

In the past, there have been several obstacles and inconveniences associated with a pet-oriented Myrtle Beach vacation. If you could find a place that would let your dog stay, your pooch still ends up spending many bored and lonely hours in a hotel room while you shop or have a night out on the town. While you are supposed to be relaxing and cutting loose, you have to worry about your pet’s feeding and exercise schedules. Overall, the traditional “bring your pet on vacation” strategy can lead to a less than ideal vacation for dog and owner alike.

But now there is Benji’s Bed & Breakfast, the five star pet resort located in Pawley’s Island. Benji’s makes vacationing with your pet fun and relaxing for both of you. You stay at your hotel, and your dog stays at Benji’s. On the days that you want to romp on the beach with your puppy, just pick your dog up. Benji’s will even deliver your dog to you, and pick him back up later! On the days that you want some time for yourself, you can rest assured that your dog is being spoiled rotten and loving every second of it.

Benji’s has individual sleeping rooms for each dog, with comfortable cots, toys, and soft background music. But the dogs are only kenneled for time outs, naps, quiet time and night sleeping. The concept of Benji's is to have the dogs socialize and play rather than be caged for most of the day.

To this end, Benji’s has lots of great areas for dogs and owners to relax and play. Outside, there are two separate play-yards, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. There are also an in-ground doggie pool area in each play yard for dogs that like to swim, and outdoor lounge areas for owners and pets alike. Inside there is a large indoor play area with a 54” TV, dartboard, and lounging couches for dogs and owners. There is a special quiet area for older dogs, too.

The charges are very reasonable, starting at $25 a night. Additional grooming, pickup/delivery services, and emergency veterinary care are available for additional cost. There is a “do-it-yourself” dog wash, a full grooming studio, and a pet boutique on the premises. You should be able to take care of all of your pet’s vacation needs without ever leaving the building.

Benji’s requires that your dog has records of all of its vaccinations, be free of fleas, and that you accompany your dog to the resort for an initial evaluation of his temperament and special needs.
